Italia Endurance Festival

World Championship for Juniors and Young Riders

On September 23, the entire world of equestrian endurance will move to Valeggio sul Mincio.
This beautiful town, close to the famous Shakesperean home of Romeo and Juliet is expecting a sold out for its accomodation facilities and nearby hotels.
At 8.00 in the morning, the beautiful structures of Parco Sigurtà will hail the young riders coming from all over the world, ready to run the much awaited FEI MEYDAN World Endurance Championship for Juniors and Young Riders.
This whole day will be dedicated to the young ones only, because they are the future of this equestrian discipline.
The next day will focus on the FEI Meydan Endurance Cup and on the FEI MEYDAN Italia Endurance Ladies Cup, both rides will cover a 120 km distance and will be followed by a CEI1*event.
Yellow, red and blue loops, respectively of 38, 27 and 19.5 km will be swept by hundreds of beautiful horses that were born to run over long distances...they were born for Endurance!
The 2016 edition of the Italia Endurance Festival has been an important test event or better, a sort of pre-ride of the World Championship that will be held in Valeggio on September 23, although the track has been tested and promoted several times in the past years.
Last year, Simonetta Leone on Bloom (unknown origins) won the CEI2* Ladies Cup (av. speed 17.51 km/h).
Her opponents, Mariuccia Righelli with LB Lechuza (Athos RP x Nafaq) and the Polish Kamila Smyk with Deporto (Porto x Dunka) – B.C. , crossed the finish line ten minutes later.
Piergiorgio Di Benedetto and Shaolin Roc’Hellou (Nabath x Elixia de Borie) won the CEI2* Meydan Open (av. speed 18.39 km/h), they were also awarded with the title of Best Condition. The horse belongs to Jacopo di Matteo.
Second podium position for Fortunato Balzano on Nab Shakim (Nablus x Moniah) who reached the finish line 10 minutes after the winner.
Third place for the 4-time National Team Member Alfonso Striano on Sayyid di Pegaso (Iktaan x Jasmine di Pegaso) who registered a 10 minute disadvantage from Fortunato.
Linda Iosa and Pantofola (Nice Blue x Calzada) – B.C. – av. speed 17.41 km/h won the 120 km ride for Young Riders. Second place for Annarita D’Ascenzo on Heawen (Fisich x Arcanha) and third place for Samuele Sirtori Origgi with Ebory (Sanadik El Shaklan x Ebora).
Camilla Coppini on Antares by Nimroz (Mazar Sharif x Angelina Bint Volia) won the CEI1* and conquered the title of Best Condition, running at an average speed of 21.18 km/h.
